Nancy Mteki (1989)
Born in Zimbabwe and lives in Germany. Nancy is a visual artist whose work draws on women and their daily experiences in society. She was introduced to photography in 2008 at a South African workshop Iliso Labantu (The Eye of the People) founded by Alistair Berg and Sue Johnson; her work has been exhibited widely in Harare, Johannesburg, Bulawayo, Pretoria, Cape Town and London. Mteki's first solo exhibition Mbereko took place at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in 2014 followed by her second solo show “Honai” in 2015 at Njelele Art Station in Harare. Participated at the 5th Asiko 2015 international art programme in Maputo in 2015, and previously took part in artists residencies and workshops in Zambia, London, Scotland, Abu Dhabi, Uganda and Germany.
